Cottage, though styled on the olde world fishermen's cottages of the
area, is brand spanking new. Built in 2010 and only completed in
mid-December, it is the property of the Reyburn brothers, Michael, the
major partner, and younger brother Jonathan. Both brothers work in the
charter yacht trade, spending most of the year cruising the Caribbean
or Mediterranean - which explains
why Castaway Cottage is available
for rental most of the year.
The cottage - or cottages to be correct - sleep six
comfortably -
four in the two-bedroomed main cottage (one en suite, plus an extra
bathroom) and two in the en-suite guest cottage.
Between the two cottages is a large outdoor entertainment area.
The accommodation is
fully equipped -
microwave,
dishwasher, washine machine included - and
quaintly decorated in a nautical style, with sepia photos of fishermen in
old frames and prints of
original paintings adding to the character.
Castaway Cottage is a perfect
all-year-round getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life, with
outdoor braai facilities
for those long summer evenings - there are some breathtaking
sunsets - and
a fireplace and DSTV in the main cottage for
cuddling
up
on chillier nights.
